Good Material by Dolly Alderton
I have been obsessed with Dolly Alderton since 2016 when she was part of the PanDolly Podcast, the spring board for the hugely popular The High Low podcast (RIP) with fellow journalist Pandora Sykes. While I love Alderton’s non-fiction writing, her debut novel Ghosts left me underwhelmed so I’m hoping to be a fan of this book.
Femina by Janina Ramirez
As a history and Women’s Studies graduate, this book speaks to me as it offers fresh look at the androcentric history of the Middle Ages and the women who were written out of it.
The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie
I’m not entirely sure why but I have always seemed to resist murder mystery books but this year I’ve really gotten into them, from the cosy to the more gruesome. Having already read the first of the Miss Marple series last month, I’m already excited to get onto the next. Quick and easy reads that are ideal for the darker evenings and luring you out of a reading slump.
